Shield Maiden Stones
These stones are one of natures real oddities. I bought all the vendor had in Tucson AZ and he said it took him several years to get these few stones. These unusual stones are called Mississippi Iron stones, found in Missouri along the Mississippi river during the drought a few years ago. They are unusual stones that call themselves SHIELD MAIDEN STONES. Shield Maidens were woman who chose to fight as warriors in Scandinavian folklore and mythology. They took up arms to defend family and home and often fought side by side with their husbands. They were fearless in their endeavors. They held their shield high to protect what was right and those that were innocent. Ask for the ancient power within these Shield Maiden stones. It is believed that these ironstones are at least 2,000 years old. Ironstone is a mixture of hematite and other minerals that often display amazing patterns. Last year a rock containing what is believed to be an ancient map, emerged from the Mississippi River in southeast Missouri. The rock contains etchings believed to be up to 1,200 years old — this ancient rock is exposed only in periods of extreme drought. "It appears to be a map of prehistoric Indian villages," said an anthropology professor at Lindenwood University. "What's really fascinating is that it shows village sites we don't yet know about."
Even though these stones are called Mississippi iron stones, just like a Shield Maiden they are tough and yet very fragile at the same time. Please be careful with your stone consider it ancient pottery.
