RAVEN STONES

These beautiful handcarved black onyx ravens from Peru come to give us the gift of traveling in the void. The Raven is keeper of secrets, giving us answers to our own hidden questions, parts of our lives that we are unwilling to face, or secrets we keep that are harming us. Raven symbolizes the void - the mystery of that which is not yet formed. Ravens are symbolic of Black Holes which draw energy toward them selves and release it in new forms.  Black is a color of magical power, and only to be feared if misused.  

In Native American tradition, Raven is the guardian of both ceremonial magic and healing circles. Honored among medicine & holy men of all tribes for its shape-shifting quality the Raven was called upon in ritual to clarify visions.  Native holy men understood that what the physical eye can ‘see’ is not necessarily the truth, and he would call upon the raven to see for him.

Raven's element is air, and she is a messenger spirit. Native American shamans use raven to project their magic over great distances. She is also the ‘patron of smoke signals’. The raven is the symbol of the Black Ray.  Ravens master the 'great mysteries' - the mystical knowledge of the Universe.  Raven is very powerful  and was held in high regard by ancient magicians and priestesses. The Black Ray filters through the void, providing a healing response that allows matter to reform and shift into something else

Those who dedicate themselves to this level of entering the void, the unformed the unknowable; are aligned with the Black Madonna teachings. (This was a group of priestess that aligned themselves with the secrets of the universe, the black ray and all light contained within it) they aligned with this powerful energy enhancing their spiritual and psychic gifts so that they could understand the mysteries. These priestesses are servants of Divine purpose. They are the truth seekers and go into realms of consciousness where others fear to tread.

The god Odin was accompanied by two ravens: Hugin who represented the power of thought  and Mugin represented the mind, and its ability to intuit meaning rather than hunting for it. Odin would send these two ravens out each day to soar across the lands. At day's end, they would return to Odin and speak to him of all they had spied upon and learned on their journeys. Odin was known as the Raven God and had many daughters known as Valkyries who could transform into ravens
